The Jamaica Institute of Bankers (JIOB) was formed in 1977 by the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) and a group of commercial banks to “satisfy the training and educational needs of the financial industry”. Responsibility for the operation of the JIOB was transferred to the Jamaica Bankers Association (JBA) in 1999.
